Diablo 3 is celebrating its tenth anniversary and wants to celebrate it with you. In the announcement, the developers explain that they have now improved Season 26 and that a feature of the season will remain in the game forever.
What feature is it about? In the current Season 26 of Diablo 3, which has been running since April 15, there is the endgame activity “Echoing Nightmare”. This feature was specifically developed for the current season as a seasonal theme. It is based on content that was already seen in the game a few years ago. The revised version of it is now active and is intended to stay.
Additionally, the D3 team wants to improve S26 now and is introducing a special bonus that will remain active until the end of the chapter.
“A lot of positive feedback, that’s why Echoing Nightmare stays”
This is what Blizzard says: In the latest blog post from May 12, the team writes that they have received “a lot of positive feedback on Echoing Nightmare” and that players have had “so much fun”. Due to the feedback from the community, Blizzard has decided to make “Echoing Nightmare” a permanent feature in the game. It will remain active even outside of S26, and you can use it again and again.
It is a horde mode that you activate after you have received the corresponding item from a boss. You then teleport to an arena via Kanai’s Cube, where gradually more and stronger enemies appear. In relation to your completed difficulty, you will then receive strong loot.
Bonus for Season 26: The current season aims to be more attractive for players, and therefore, there is a bonus on bounties. “From today until the end of Season 26, all bounties will be doubled,” it says in the blog post.
The team explains that the bonus affects the Horadric Caches. If you complete five bounties in an act, you will receive double the number of caches, based on the game’s difficulty. This does not affect the drop rates of rewards.
How do you like the change that a seasonal feature is becoming permanent content? Do you like Echoing Nightmare so much that you want it to be permanent?
However, Echoing Nightmare is not completely new. The feature originates from 2015 and is now in a revised form in the game. In the earlier version, there were some things that had to be smoothed out.
