With a massive ban wave, Blizzard’s hack & slash Diablo 3 has cleaned up the leaderboard: Unfair players have been banned from the game!
In the past, there have often been players or streamers who were called cheaters by the community. Unfortunately (or fortunately), that’s not enough to get someone banned from the game. To follow up on these reports, Blizzard has slightly revamped its tool for identifying cheaters. The tool is called “Warden” and is certainly familiar to some fans of Blizzard’s games.
In the official Diablo 3 forum, Blizzard confirmed “Kauza” that there has been a ban wave in Diablo 3. Details are scarce. The corresponding bot providers are usually not too eager to reveal who exactly their bot has affected. There are some theories about who has been affected and why, but nothing truly concrete.

The “nice” part about it is that even some streamers who have long been a thorn in the side of the community got caught, who have been accused of farming boring tasks off-stream using a bot and then only doing “exciting things” in public streams, like tackling higher Greater Rifts.
