In the Diablo 3 new patch, an Easter egg has been sneakily added that references Fallout.
As Kotaku reports, there is a clever Easter egg in the latest patch 2.4 for Diablo 3 in the form of a jewel. The item is called “Boyarsky’s Chip” (in German Boyarskys Splitter).
Leonard Boyarsky is involved in Diablo 3, he was also the Art Director for Fallout back then and involved in Fallout 2.
The “Boyarsky Chip” is a jewel that increases thorn damage. In the flavor text, the Fallout references are hard to miss. It talks about a “Vault” and when you socket it, it will never fall out, “never fall out.”
