In Diablo 2: Resurrected, the hardest players are currently facing an issue with a decision made by Blizzard. The in-game ranking system, “the Ladder”, was not available at launch. Even two weeks after the release, it is still unknown when Season 1 will begin.
What are the toughest fans waiting for?
- For the toughest fans of Diablo 2, the game only truly begins when the ranked list, the “Ladder”, starts. From that moment, when Season 1 begins, Diablo 2 “counts” properly.
- Players must create a “Ladder character” at the start of a new season, either in Softcore or Hardcore mode.
- Then, a leaderboard shows who levels up the fastest and has gained the most experience.

It is said that Season 1 will not begin until a patch is ready to fix some critical bugs.
Once they know more, they will inform the fans when ranked play will start so that they have enough time to prepare.
“Why are you releasing an unfinished game?”
This is the reaction: There are some players who agree with the fundamental decision not to launch a Ladder yet. For them, the focus of Blizzard should currently be on resolving the ‘AVX’ issue. They say: What does the Ladder matter when I can’t even play Diablo 2 Resurrected?
Console players are also looking for new information, about when features like the lobby will arrive.
