A remake for Diablo II seems to finally be no longer a dream. A large team is said to be taking care of the remake – there are new employees at Blizzard.

Now there are new hints. The former team of Vicarious Visions has become part of Blizzard and is reportedly working on the remake of Diablo II.
Where does the info come from? The original report comes from GamesIndustry.biz. They reported that the 200 employees of Vicarious Visions have completely merged with Blizzard. They are to take care of certain Blizzard games “long-term”.
Shortly after that, Jason Schreier also reported on Bloomberg. Schreier is known for having good insider contacts with the big game companies and has revealed a lot at Blizzard.
What kind of team is this? The team from Vicarious Visions has been part of Activision for a long time, but has now been integrated into Blizzard and is fully taking care of Blizzard titles. Vicarious Visions has not become known for its own titles in recent years, that dates back more to the time of GameBoy Advance.
Rather, they are known for their remakes in recent years, such as the remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater or the “Crash Bandicoot” trilogy. Both are big titles whose remakes were received with enthusiasm.
