Trion Worlds’ new action MMO Devilian shines the spotlight on the players’ devil form.
In a game that falls so clearly into a known pattern like Trion Worlds’ new import “Devilian”, one of the first questions players ask is: “So? What makes it so special?”
Trion Worlds’ answer seems to be: It combines the speed of a Diablo with the gameplay depth of an MMORPG. And since that alone doesn’t really draw, they happily add: Oh yes! And you can transform into huge devils!
This is essentially the “super ability” of the individual class: A half-demon slumbers within them, which can be awakened when the player collects enough devil souls. The special form has its own items and skills and can therefore evolve alongside the player’s “normal form”.
In gameplay terms, it seems to be some sort of “damage cooldown” that one should especially save for dungeon bosses.
