In recent days, there has been a rumor that with each new set expansion, the pack hourglasses would be replaced. However, the development team of Pokémon TCG Pocket has now eased concerns.
What was the rumor about? Several sites, including The Gamer, reported that it was possible to replace the current pack hourglasses. These are used to open additional packs beyond the daily limit.
Many players hoarded hourglasses just before the release of a new set to open as many packs as possible at launch. This allowed them to immediately have many of the new cards and try out the new tactics in both PvE and PvP modes.
A change in the pack hourglasses would have meant that every player would start from scratch and first have to collect hourglasses to open more than just 2 (or with a premium pass 3) boosters a day. But the developers are now addressing this rumor.

What did they announce? Screen Rant inquired with The Pokémon Company International whether there was any truth to the rumors. The company denied the leaks and revealed that the pack hourglasses currently in the game can also be used for future sets.
This means they are not only usable for Unbeatable Genes
and Mysterious Island
, but also for all upcoming boosters. So if you have most or even all cards from the previous sets, you can already save the pack hourglasses for the next expansion.
What do pack hourglasses do? Each pack hourglass reduces the time you have to wait to open the next pack by one hour. If you have accumulated many pack hourglasses, you can open many boosters quickly one after the other. Otherwise, you would have to wait for days.
You can obtain pack hourglasses through daily missions or the in-game shop. This way, you can reach a three-digit number before the next set appears.
