The developers of Path of Exile 2 have announced a new patch. This time, the focus is primarily on general improvements, but a popular feature from the predecessor is also making a return.
What is this feature? The developers of Path of Exile 2 have now released the first details about the new patch 0.2.0H in their forum (via PathofExile.com). The patch is set to go live at the end of next week and will primarily revolve around general improvements. As a new feature, the developers will be bringing back the popular private servers, known as private leagues in PoE.
These private servers allow players to play together with their friends or as part of a streamer community in their own environment. The servers have their own economy and sometimes their own rules. In the predecessor, there was recently a private league with 30,000 players starting fresh together.
This will also be possible in Path of Exile 2 starting from the next patch. The developers explain in their post that they will initially use the same website PathofExile.com as in the predecessor for this. However, the system will initially launch in a simplified form without additional modifiers like stronger enemies. These optional modes are expected to be added later.

Broken Will-o’-the-wisps and unnecessary storage compartments
What else will be changed in the patch? The developers of Path of Exile 2 are also addressing the current season mechanic “Azmerian Wisps” with patch 0.2.0H. The mechanic surrounding the will-o’-the-wisps, which are supposed to enhance your enemies with stronger powers and more loot, is currently not functioning as intended when two of them are activated simultaneously. The developers aim to fix this.
Another new feature includes two new types of storage compartments. The Ritual storage compartment is meant to hold the “Omens” and “Audiences”. The Socketable storage compartment, on the other hand, is supposed to store all your runes, talismans, and Soul Cores. Additionally, you can upgrade the runes directly in the storage compartment.
However, the new storage compartments are not well-received by the community. On Reddit, user StartPuffinBoi writes: “A whole tab for how much, 14 omen sockets + Inv? Why not just make a fragment tab with 10 free slots at the bottom? Ditto for runes.”
Others counter that there are far more than 10 fragments and that the chests could host more items in the future and be expanded in purpose by the developers. User Erionns explains on Reddit that this was also the case with the fragment compartment from the predecessor.
The developers of PoE2 plan to provide more detailed information about the general improvements next week before the patch. However, changes to Strongboxes, Rogue Exiles, and the Breach game mode are already planned. Whether anything will be done to curb the dominant class in the game remains open: One class currently dominates Path of Exile 2, and the developers are now revealing how severe it is
