What is this game about? It is an MMORPG, as the job posting indicates. And the project will use Unreal Engine 4. Whether it is the same game hinted at in 2018 is unclear.
What does that mean exactly? Unreal Engine 4 is known for enabling excellent graphics in games. So it seems we can look forward to a really good-looking MMORPG.
ArcheAge made a great visual impression upon its release in 2013. Of course, the game has aged a bit since then. However, XLGames is a company that places great importance on the visual quality of a game, as the graphics update for Patch 6.0 shows.
With the use of Unreal Engine 4 for the new project, an MMORPG with truly great graphics seems conceivable.
Are we expecting a sequel to ArcheAge?
Is ArcheAge 2 coming? It is unclear whether this project has anything to do with ArcheAge. However, there is a small hint that something may indeed be expected in this universe. The job posting mentions the AA Team for which the two new employees are supposed to work. AA apparently stands for ArcheAge.
What will happen to ArcheAge? On one hand, it is still unclear whether the new game is actually ArcheAge 2. On the other hand, the development is reportedly still in its early stages, and it may take a few more years until we see this game. For the time being, ArcheAge is safe.
Will the game be released here as well? The two new employees must be proficient in English. This is a prerequisite for hiring. This could indicate that an international release of the new MMORPG is planned. Whether the new game will then be released worldwide simultaneously or if localization will proceed a bit faster if it is developed in English from the start.
