Developers confirm: This is almost the complete map of Anthem

A screenshot from a video taken by a fan shows a large part of the game world of Anthem. The authenticity has already been confirmed by Bioware.

A player took a screenshot from a YouTube video and shared the image via reddit. Bioware’s Brenon Holmes, the Creative Director of Anthem, also confirmed shortly after: This map is current, and the image shows about 90% of it. Only a few areas are missing at the top and bottom.

Fans speculate about the size of the map

Currently, there are few clues about the size of the game world. The HUB, Fort Tarsis, is not shown. According to Brenon, the map is supposed to be large enough. But players are often resourceful. A Reddit user tried to illustrate the scale based on other trailer scenes.

Based on a picture of a huge, elevated rock plateau, he searched for and apparently found the spot on the map.

While this is not really precise, it at least gives an impression of how vast the game world could be.

Vertical gameplay allows exploring places that one can’t reach in other games: Considering the scenes shown so far, it should be clear that the game has a lot of vertical gameplay to offer. You will be spending much time in the air and underwater. This brings significantly more walkable areas than most open-world games.

The game world is said to evolve permanently: One feature of Anthem’s game world is supposed to be that it constantly evolves and changes. We currently do not know what these changes will look like. There may already be areas at release that cannot be accessed yet.

It is also possible that these changes come with updates and thus bring specific events in line with the current phase of the game.

You will be able to explore the game world of Anthem in a group of up to four players. Solo players are also expected to manage well.
