Project Honor is the new and first game from the studio Notorious. It is being developed by many former WoW developers, with the aim of creating a high-fantasy MMORPG. They are supported not only by Riot Games (LoL, Valorant) but also by big names on Twitch.
What kind of game is it? Currently, not much is known about that. Project Honor is supposed to be a high-fantasy MMORPG that strongly focuses on various class roles. The developers emphasize that the player experience should be at the center. They aim to make players continue talking about the game and sharing memories of exciting events even outside of the testing phases.
In addition to the sophisticated classes and the players’ experiences, a gigantic, new world will be the third pillar of Project Honor. In a video, the developers show various races, some of which look like elves, goblins, and orcs. Whether all of these will be playable remains to be seen.
Why is this exciting? Behind the new name Notorious are some already known figures in the MMORPG world. Especially many long-time developers from World of Warcraft are now working on Project Honor.

Co-founder of the studio is Chris Kaleiki. He worked on World of Warcraft for 13 years and was primarily responsible for designing the Monk class. He was also involved in various PvP systems and skills between 2007 and 2020. Additionally, there are other exciting developers on board with a lot of MMORPG experience:
- Cole Eastburn – Worked for 14 years as a Concept Artist at World of Warcraft, giving many characters their look
- Colin Volrath – Before working as a Senior Level Designer at WoW, he created the maps Tuscan and Russka in Counter-Strike
- Jason Kanagaratnam – Brings a lot of MMORPG experience. As a gameplay engineer, he has worked not only on World of Warcraft but also on Elder Scrolls Online.
- John Liberto – The former Lead System Designer for New World at Amazon Games has previously designed gameplay systems for Bulletstorm and Gears of War
Studio can attract major investors and well-known supporters
Who are the investors? Unlike some MMORPGs from new studios, Notorious is not relying on crowdfunding. The approximately one-year-old developer studio has managed to attract some major investors. Besides Galaxy Interactive, Riot Games and OTK have also financially supported the team.
This is particularly interesting in light of the fact that Riot Games has its own MMORPG in the pipeline, about which we also don’t know much yet.
However, the development team is focusing on collaboration with OTK, which was announced on June 9, 2022.
Who is OTK? Behind the name is a large influencer network, where you can find some of the most well-known streamers in the world. Among others, the “best MMORPG streamer on Twitch” is part of this network – Asmongold.
But other huge names like Mizkif, Emiru, and Esfand are also part of OTK.
