The leaks regarding GTA 6 have a natural cause, according to a developer who has previously worked at Rockstar Games.
Who is the developer? Obbe Vermeij worked at Rockstar from 1995 to 2009 and was involved in GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, and GTA 4. According to the website MobyGames, he was a Technical Director.
In an interview with SaninPlay on YouTube, the developer commented on the leaks of GTA 6. He says, “The leaks are usually not as important as people think.”

Where do the leaks come from? Vermeij has not closely followed the leaks of GTA 6. He states: “The leaks are generally not as significant as people think,” and elaborates, “It’s just that millions of people are waiting for news and Rockstar isn’t giving them any news […].”
However, Vermeij understands why Rockstar Games is not sharing news with the world. It has to do with how these would be processed. He says: “[…] because whenever a large company says something, whether it’s Rockstar or EA or Ubisoft or whatever, it gets analyzed, and often it is negatively rated […].”
From his perspective, what Rockstar Games is doing right now is exactly right. He believes: “It’s best if they just stay silent. That’s exactly what they’re doing now. It’s a shame it has come to this, but it’s not just their fault.”
What leaks have occurred with GTA 6? Videos, photos, and gameplay of GTA 6 have been leaked multiple times. As early as September 2022, 90 videos of the new installment of the “Grand Theft Auto” series were shared online. Shortly before the planned release of the trailer, Rockstar Games was forced to release the trailer earlier due to leakers spreading it beforehand.
