The developer Tyler alias TVGS (“Tyler’s Video Game Studio”) spoke on Twitch about the future of his Steam hit Schedule 1 on April 24, 2025. Unfortunately, the VoD of the stream is not available, but helpful users on Reddit have compiled the main information.
What about the release of Schedule 1? The crazy simulation game has already thrilled hundreds of thousands of players on Steam in Early Access, but they will have to wait for the full release for about 2 to 3 more years. As the developer explains, the 1.0 version is still “2 or 3 years away”. So we can expect the release of Schedule 1 in 2027 or 2028.
TVGS, who has mostly worked as a solo developer on Schedule 1, also explains that progress has been slower than expected since the successful launch of the game because he is “constantly in meetings.” However, he hopes that things will calm down soon.
You get to decide: Cartel, Raids, or Shrooms?
What else was said? In the stream, TVGS also announced numerous content and revisions that should make Schedule 1 even better. The community will be allowed to vote on the first major content update. The options will be “Cartel Interactions,” “Police Raids,” or the introduction of “Mushrooms” as a new drug.
Once the game is in a stable condition, new content should also come faster in the coming months. On Reddit, the user xizzo has listed the main points:
- Schedule 1 is expected to be approved for the Steam Deck in May or June 2025. Performance improvements are to be made soon for this.
- TVGS wants to gradually hire a community manager, an additional artist, and a QA tester.
- Future updates like the cartel update will introduce more lore into the game.
- Uncle Nelson is set to play a bigger role in the story.
- Mushrooms are to become the first new drug in the game, followed by MDMA.
- TVGS is already working on new purchasable locations, with map expansions planned for the slums by the harbor and the mountains behind the barn.
- The employees’ beds will change to lockers to take up less space. There will also be more types of employees, and they will overall be able to do more.
- More money laundering businesses are planned, becoming more interactive overall. The casino is expected to become purchasable as a money laundering asset in the future.
- Additionally, QoL features like filters for storage rooms and cosmetic features like vehicle customizations are planned.
TVGS also announced another dev stream in the foreseeable future. If you want to hear more from the developer directly, you should keep an eye on his channel on Twitch.
TVGS has involved the community in the development process from the very beginning and asked for advice. Therefore, it’s not surprising that fans can now also decide on upcoming content.
