Sony has introduced the PS5 controller. A developer from “The Last of Us Part 2” has already had it in hand and is excited about the possibilities.
Who is speaking? Robert Krekel has reported. He is currently the Audio Lead at Naughty Dog, the development studio behind the game “The Last of Us Part 2“. As Lead, Krekel is responsible for the sound of the game.
What does the developer say? Krekel had already held a prototype of the PS5 controller some time ago. On Twitter, the developer now explains: “I am excited about the new PS5 controller. Many very cool possibilities to integrate audio with haptic feedback. I played around with a prototype a long time ago and the possibilities are very exciting.”
How exactly will this work? The developer did not specify how the connection between sound and haptics is supposed to work. However, a patent from Sony had already revealed that the new controller will get completely new capabilities.
How this will work exactly will only be seen at the release of the PS5. However, it will take a while until the game is released, as the release of The Last of Us Part 2 will be delayed.
