Such a thing doesn’t happen every day: An employee of Battlefield 5 developer DICE was banned in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. But why?
Unjustly banned? The victim Florian Le Bihan, a Core Gameplay Designer at DICE, who is currently working on Battlefield 5, expressed his frustration on Twitter. Because in his opinion, the ban in Black Ops 4 is unfounded.
In a tweet to Treyarch, he said: “So, I got banned in Black Ops 4. LOL. Would you please refrain?” He included an image of the ban message.
This is not a joke or a trolling attempt, but the real Twitter account of the game developer. One can recognize this by the numerous Battlefield questions he answers there.
A video as proof of innocence: Le Bihan himself believes that the ban is related to his exceptional performance in the multiplayer mode of Black Ops 4.
In an attempt to prove his innocence, he posted, in addition to his first tweet, a video of his best kills titled “Treyarch PLS” – so “Treyarch, please…”
To the video, he added a message: “Here is this great video of me taking out some other players in Black Ops 4. Take this as a sign of my appreciation for your game (Please lift the ban).”
Did the developer’s own skill cause his downfall? Currently, there is no official information about the reason for the ban. The attached image does not make that clear. However, it could indeed be a mistake or a wrongful ban by the automated anti-cheat system that may have categorized the developer’s performance as cheating.
Because if you look at his performance in Black Ops 4 multiplayer, this assumption does not seem entirely unfounded. As a former pro gamer, Le Bihan obviously has quite a bit of skill.
UPDATE: As Le Bihan recently announced on Twitter, the ban did not last long. He is now officially free and can play normally again. He also promised Treyarch to hold back a bit for a while.
