Yahoo took a Destiny in-game screenshot to illustrate a news story about Saturn.
Everyone makes mistakes. Recently, we reported on a hotel that used a “GTA 5” screenshot as an advertisement image to showcase the LA location in a flattering light. The ever-improving graphics of games seem to be a pitfall for some people.
In Destiny, there was now a curious mix-up: The large internet company Yahoo used a screenshot of Saturn from Bungie’s MMO shooter to illustrate an article about the ringed planet.
What? That’s not the real Saturn?
The Yahoo news story is about Saturn’s moon Titan and discusses the question of whether life is possible there. A screenshot of the article can be seen below:
How Yahoo came by this image remains unclear. Perhaps someone was browsing Google Images without having sipped their morning coffee. With the keyword “Titan,” which is also associated with a Guardian class in Destiny, they might have stumbled upon this image somehow.
It should be clear that this cannot be a “real” image of Saturn. In the foreground, there is a ship of a Guardian, and in the background, the grave ship can also be seen. What led Yahoo to use this screenshot remains their secret.
Saturn is a gas planet that has only been integrated into Destiny since the “The Taken King” expansion. However, one cannot get closer than the grave ship to this giant.
“The Taken King” marked the start of year 2 of Destiny. Now, the third year of the shooter is already visible on the horizon. “The Rise of Iron” will be released on September 20, 2016, and will conclude the second year.
