One thing we know by now: How many new exotic armors and weapons are coming? More than a dozen exotic weapons are mentioned and eighteen exotic armor pieces (six for each class).
Many will ask: What weapons and armor are coming? Last time we knew this months earlier. That was during the time when a flood of data from numerous leaks poured out about Destiny. Those times are long gone.
In the last DLC House of Wolves, there were only nine exotic armor pieces that could then end up with Xur. It seems that the old noodle face is in for fatter times in Destiny again, if he stays as he is.
What will happen with Xur in the next expansion?
This is still not certain. Because we currently know nothing about Xur, and whether the strange coins will continue to have a function is unknown. Bungie intends to clarify all these questions in a series of live streams in the coming weeks.

What exotic weapons and armor does Xur have on August 7?
Xur sells the hand cannon “The Last Word.” The weapon is considered an absolute cult weapon and is still a widowmaker in PvP. He wants 23 strange coins for it.
Xur has the Bones of Eao for Hunters (a good 151 Dis), Hunter boots with Jump. They are new and in demand. They cost 13 strange coins, like all armor pieces.
For Titans, he has the helmet Eternal Warrior (decent 56 Int, 75 Dis) with him. This is also a new DLC-2 helmet. Interesting, but Xur has sold it before.
For Warlocks, he sells the Voidfang Vestments (acceptable 150/159 Str).
