In a week, Activision’s quarterly investor conference will take place. Will we learn more about the future of Destiny?
“Hey, what is happening with Destiny?” This question is currently on the minds of many Guardians. But Bungie still stubbornly refuses to provide solid information. We know that a balance patch will be released in mid-February and a content update is planned for Spring. At some point in 2017, “Destiny 2” will be released. However, these are just vague bits of information that have been served to the Guardians for weeks now. There is not much to work with.
Next week, this might change. Activision will hold the investor conference for the fourth quarter of 2016. Here, the key stakeholders and investors gather to highlight the highlights of the past year and look ahead to 2017. This event will take place on February 9.
A roadmap for investors and Guardians
Usually, at this Activision event, the directional pillars are set in place: Investors want to know when to expect the next releases. And since Bungie has so far failed to provide a roadmap, many Guardians are eagerly anticipating this date.
In 2016, the fourth quarter conference of 2015 took place on February 11, where the “Taken King” expansion was highly praised and information about sales figures and registered users was shared. Among the highlights was the announcement that a large new expansion would appear in 2016 (which turned out to be Rise of Iron) and a complete sequel was expected in 2017.
What can we expect this year?
Next week, we will probably learn whether Destiny 2 is still on track and can maintain the 2017 release. However, one should not expect extensive details about the sequel. At investor conferences, numbers and timelines take precedence.
However, CEOs also like to use this platform to make promising statements about the most important games. Perhaps Activision will provide some comments on the future of Destiny that will get the hype train moving again.
One thing is certain: On Mein-MMO.de, you won’t miss any information.
