In Destiny rewards were promised for early buyers of the digital Collector’s Edition who paid too much back in June. What about them?
The story goes back to June. That’s when the “digital Collector’s Edition” of Destiny was released, which included the base game and two DLCs, namely the expansion and some “digital goodies,” emotes, and such. At that time, there was a lot of fuss about “three exotic class items with XP bonuses” – by now, many are quite disappointed with those.
Many were upset about the price of the digital Collector’s Edition for The Taken King and said: We already have the base game and the first 2 DLCs, we’re not paying that much more just to get a few emotes.
Later, things escalated. There was an unfortunate interview where money was thrown against monitors, until Bungie said: Okay, we understand. If you only want the emotes and the expansion, we’ll give you a cheaper way to get them. That was the 20 Euro add-on pack with the emotes.
However, some players had already purchased the “expensive Collector’s Edition.” Bungie later promised them “a special gift.”
In the meantime, we have already reported on this. It is now clear how this works.
Only very few receive this special gift
To receive the gift, you had to have purchased the digital Collector’s Edition (and no other) between June 16 and June 24.
- Then, PS3/PS4 players in the EU region receive 2300 silver via the Playstation Store.
- Others, the majority, have received 9 emotes unlocked. They can be found either with Tess in the Tower or in the Emote kiosk at the Hangar.
These are now the rewards, which probably brings this chapter to an end. Bungie apologizes for the confusion.
If you feel that you are entitled to something and have received nothing, it is best to contact Bungie/Activision.
There are likely only very few who apply to this.
