In the MMO shooter Destiny a small patch, a hotfix, is scheduled to be implemented tonight on March 8.
No maintenance work is actually planned. However, it may be that Guardians who enter orbit will be logged out and then have to download a patch, Bungie reports. This is scheduled for 7:00 PM our time.
Although there are no patch notes available yet about what the hotfix will do, last Thursday, it was said that the hotfix will bring new, improved matchmaking settings for all playlists in PvP. These settings should pay more attention to the connection than before, which should further reduce lag.
At 10AM PST on Tuesday March 8th, Destiny players may be asked to login again upon returning to orbit to download a patch.

Additionally, the “Damage Referee” is now supposed to become active for all playlists. It should ensure that players with poor connections take damage where other Guardians see them, and not where they are displayed on their own screen. In the past, laggers sometimes had a gameplay advantage due to their poor connection. This should come to an end with the “Damage Referee”.
The community is currently skeptical. Recently, Bungie announced some of these improvements, but the reactions have been rather mixed. While some say, “Yes, it has improved,” others do not notice any improvement, and again others perceive a decline.

Update 19:20: The patch notes are here. However, there is nothing unexpected in them. It is exactly the two items, matchmaking settings and Damage Referee, that we have introduced. If you belong to a race that has thumbs, you may want to press them now that the desired effect of the hotfix takes place this time.
