In Destiny the question arises: What about the old raids? Will they be reworked?
The US site Kotaku has two Destiny experts on board and has had insider stories from the Destiny realm in the past. The interview with the Creative Director of Rise of Iron, Chris Barrett, and Bungie’s Marketing Head Eric Osborne was one of the places where “straight talk” about Destiny was discussed. We have filtered out some highlights.
If the old raids come back, they should feel fresh
Bungie has received fan feedback suggesting that they should revive the old raids “The Glassed Chamber” and “Croatoan’s End”. However, players also want new content, new raids. And that’s what Bungie is currently focusing on.
There are whispers that players wish “Just increase the light level,” but if they revisit old content, they will do it like with the strikes: they want it to feel fresh and give players a reason to revisit.
Also in the Playboy interview about Destiny (which we have already reported on) the topic came up. It was said that they believed it was better to spend the time creating “something new”. However, the revival of “old raids” is something they are discussing. They also do not yet know exactly what they will do after “Rise of Iron” to continue supporting Destiny.
Last-gen consoles, Custom PvP and more

- They had to part ways with the old consoles because currently “the basket is full.” To add something new now, they would have had to remove something old. Without the “Last-Gen”, they do not have to do that and can add new features and graphical improvements.
- Players shouldn’t expect huge changes for Rise of Iron. They are quite satisfied with where Destiny stands after the April update. They want to bring new content, a new story, new stuff. Further announcements are expected throughout the summer.
- Regarding “Custom PvP Matches” – Bungie did not want to comment. However, they say they are very excited to introduce the new crucible mode. “Custom PvP Matches” – friends could play against each other and it would also enable esports. Some believe this could be one of the new features Bungie brings. But, as mentioned, no comment. You hear that more often lately regarding the crucial questions.
