Perhaps new races will come
A very interesting question is: why shouldn’t it continue with a – or perhaps several – completely new races? So far, we always play with the same companions. Oryx brought us the Taken, who aimed at us wildly. But now that Oryx is taken care of, there seems to be no future for the Taken anymore.
By the time of “Destiny 2”, at least one new race must come to provide more variety in front of the lens. Before that, it is very unlikely that anything will come. Even though we still do not know what the next content will look like.
So many questions remain
Oh, there is still so much that needs to be told, which is unclear, which was hinted at but not further pursued. What about the Nine? Xûr as an agent of this fun group visits us regularly over the weekend. For Strange Coins, you can get all kinds of nice things from him. But please, who or what are the Nine?
If they are out there and want to communicate with us, then they surely have an interesting story in store for us. Despite Xûr’s trustworthy appearance, some doubt that the Nine have good intentions. Who knows what they do with all those Strange Coins.
In general, we also know very little about the factions in the Tower. Future War Cult, New Monarchy, Dead Orbit… surely nice storylines can be woven from them.
Of the playable races, the Exos are the least known so far. Bungie describes them as eerie, powerful, and tireless. The Exos were created in the image of humans but possess their own consciousness. Many of them live in the City. In the Tower, you have already encountered Banshee-44, Cayde-6, and Lakshmi-2. Another Exo is the Stranger from the first storyline. Her origins and purpose are still unknown.
Moreover, we all know the names of numerous legendary figures, whether Kabr, Pahanin, Prydeth, etc. What exactly is their story?
You can see that when listing possible storylines, you have to be careful not to get carried away. There are so many directions that are possible and quite interesting. The next content announcement is surely coming – but Bungie: Please don’t take too long with it!
