What about the Cabal?
Since our exploration of Mars, we know about the Cabal that they represent the largest known military power in the system and attack anything and anyone that stands in their way. They are tactically efficient, disciplined, and have several terms for “advance,” but none for “retreat.” That says quite a bit.
So far, we have had very little to do with the Cabal. On Mars, we cleared them out to reach the Black Garden, and there were a few confrontations on the Dreadnaught – but they were never the center of the story. Consequently, it is considered very likely among the Guardians that we will see more of this race in the future.
Recently, Oryx has been quite a problem for them, which may not have pleased some of the Cabal bosses. And there are quite a few, considering Valus Ta’aurc, Primus Sha’aull, Bracus Tha’aurn, and all the others. The origin of this race is unknown, as is their ultimate goal for hopping from planet to planet. Perhaps they are sending a powerful fleet with their highest leaders to avenge the latest losses. Then revenge would again be the origin of a new, conceivable story.
The Vex have already been pushed back, right?
The Vex are described as more evil than evil itself; they have built ancient complex structures and are all connected through a network. They operate in harmony and are driven by a single unfathomable purpose. Furthermore, they can travel through time. Fine opponents indeed.
Especially the first storyline hit the Vex quite hard. First, we killed the Heart of the Black Garden, and then we cleared up in the Glass Chamber. Although we dealt with them a lot at the beginning of our journey, they are still shrouded in secrecy. We do not quite understand what these machines are all about. However, no one knows how the Vex will continue. Nevertheless, there is reason to believe that we will hear something new about the Vex in 2016.
At least there are indications that Mercury will be the next planet where the story can take place. Until now, Mercury could only be visited in PvP. And what do we know about Mercury? Right, the Vex had their hands in it. It is said that the Vex turned Mercury into one single machine. If that actually happens, the Vex will likely be brought to the forefront once again.
