The complete loot table of Xur, the Agent of the Nine, is now known in Destiny. A trick made it possible to find out everything he can ever sell.
Xur is a special vendor who comes every Friday and stays in the Tower for 48 hours. He sells exotic armor and weapons for the special currency in Destiny, “strange coins.” But which ones? That has now been revealed.
For a while now, a “glitch” has been circulating. It allows players to change the date settings on the PlayStation so they can see Xur with a different inventory than the one he currently has. This makes it possible to travel back in time in Destiny and see what he had available before the release.
Before people start screaming: “Cheat, Cheat, Cheat.” It’s not as bad as it sounds. It is not possible to buy anything from Xur; it was just meant to see what he might have. It is also not possible to see into the future, so you can’t know what will definitely be coming next Sunday, only what could.
What armor does Xur sell in Destiny?
First, the good news: Xur sells ALL exotic armor pieces in Destiny. There are no exceptions. This means: 9 different exotic helmets (3 for each class), 6 different exotic chest pieces (2 for each class), and 3 exotic gauntlets (1 for each class). These armor pieces are crucial for the light level. Exotic armor pieces reach a light value of up to 30. This value can only be reached by armor from the raid “Vault of Glass” in Destiny – and later the armors from the Iron Banner.
By the way, no pattern has been noticed in which an item appeared excessively often – like in recent weeks with the Warlock the “Sunbreakers” gloves. The armors seem to be evenly distributed.
What weapons does Xur sell?
When it comes to the exotic weapons he sells, it gets complicated. He will never sell the Vex Mythoclast, the fusion rifle for the primary slot from Atheon in the hard mode. Also, the two currently still PlayStation-exclusive exotic weapons “Hawkmoon” and “Monte Carlo” will not be in his inventory. It may change when the exclusivity for PlayStation expires and Xbox users will also have access to these two weapons.
He still cannot carry weapons that can be obtained through a specific bounty. These are: Thorn, Bad Juju, Super Good Advice, Fate of All Fools (which is said to come with the Trials of Osiris event), Pocket Infinity, and Incentive.
Otherwise, he should be able to sell all weapons. So far, these have been: Gjallarhorn, Red Death (twice), Truth, Ice Breaker, Suros Regime (twice). He has only been in the Tower seven times so far.
According to the results from Planetdestiny, he should still be able to sell the following weapons that have not yet appeared in the showcase: MIDA Multi-Tool, Thunderlord, The Last Word, Universal Remote, Patience and Time, Plan C, and Hard Light. Currently, some Guardians are likely looking forward to Patience and Time, the sniper rifle. So it’s still worth checking in on Fridays in Destiny to see what the old black market vendor has.
In terms of weapons, testers have actually noticed that some weapons seem to appear more often than others. Ice Breaker and Suros Regime seem to occur more frequently. Whether this is just related to the low statistical amount and hence randomness, or if there is something to the assumption, is still unknown.
