In Destiny , Xur, the Agent of the Nine, has not been selling Heavy Ammo Synths in recent weeks. They are more sought after than ever. What is behind this?
Xur’s Heavy Ammo Synths are available for a discount price when he has them in stock: five for one Strange Coin. As Strange Coins are no longer as valuable as they were in the early days of Destiny, it’s a deal Guardians would happily take.
The demand for Synths is also increased by the “Ammunition Bug” that Bungie plans to fix but has not done so yet. They hope to have it resolved by the end of the month.
Heavy ammo is especially needed in the raid, where Guardians suffering under the heavy load of having a Gjallarhorn often face ammo problems since Crota is quite the rocket sponge. Buying the Synths “regularly” costs Glimmer, which makes them eagerly anticipate the Agent of the Nine’s visit on Fridays.
Bungie absolves all responsibility, pointing with clean hands at the guy with the noodles in his face
But, as is often the case with Xur: He does not always offer the Synths, only sometimes. And in recent weeks, not at all.
Conspiracy theories arose about what could be the reason, perhaps related to the quest line “Urn of Sacrifice” or whether Bungie changed something in malice so that Guardians would learn to appreciate heavy ammo again or that the content is becoming artificially harder.
There is now an official statement from Bungie on the matter. The community manager said: “We have not changed anything. We did not decide to take the Synths away. I am sorry he didn’t have any this week. I have no influence over that snake-faced bastard.”
It has not been removed permanently. And there was no conscious decision made to deprive you of it. I’m sorry he doesnt’ have it this week. I have no control over that snake-faced bastard.
Until the bug is fixed, Titans can make do with this configuration, while others may find a trick is presented here.
