Maintenance is taking place at Destiny. The servers are offline today, on August 8th, for several hours. Destiny maintenance.
Update: The maintenance is extended by 2 hours. It is expected to end at 11 PM.
Bungie announced a server downtime for this Tuesday. If you log in currently, a warning appears in the game that maintenance is upcoming. We have the information for you.
- Maintenance will begin today at 5 PM. You will not be able to log into Destiny.
- At 6 PM, all players will be roughly removed from their activities. The servers will be shut down. Make sure to finish your activity beforehand.
- At 9 PM, maintenance is expected to be completed.
During maintenance, no new gameplay content or content changes will be introduced.
At the same time, Bungie is making some adjustments to Bungie.net and the Companion App. During this time, some services will not be available.
Bungie prepares for Destiny 2
According to the community manager Cozmo, the maintenance is being used to prepare for Destiny 2. The sequel is set to be released in less than a month, on September 6th, for PS4 and Xbox One and on October 24th for PC.
Several dates are still coming up:
- The clan import is currently running. If you want to transfer your clan from Destiny 1 to the sequel, the clan founders should take action and make the desired settings on the Bungie site.
- In two weeks, from August 22nd to August 26th, Gamescom 2017 will take place. Some Bungie people will be in Cologne with Destiny 2.
- In early September, from September 1st to 4th, Bungie will be at PAX West. This event will also be used to promote Destiny 2.
