In Destiny, new content is on the horizon – and it shouldn’t take long to arrive.
Today, Thanksgiving is being celebrated in the USA. Therefore, community manager DeeJ already published the weekly community letter, “This Week at Bungie,” last night, so he can sit down with his family and friends today and carve the turkey with a flaming axe.
The letter, which is usually full of announcements and status updates, is quite concise this time. Numerous Bungie developers are quoted about what they are thankful for. Most thank the community – which is not particularly surprising; after all, this is the letter to the community.
What Bungie is thankful for
Senior writer Christine Thompson is quoted: “I am thankful for the passion and enthusiasm of our fans. Whether they love or hate something, their passion and commitment drive us to keep improving.”
For Thanksgiving, Jon Weisnewski, the senior designer, is particularly focused on charity: “I am thankful for all Destiny players who have organized or donated to charity streams. You make the world a better place. Keep it up.”
Some developers do not take these thank-you notes too seriously, like Joe Sifferman, a senior designer: “I am thankful for the facepalm gesture.”
Destiny aims to shorten content gaps
The complete, lengthy list of things Bungie is thankful for can be found in our source reference. However, things get really interesting at the end of the letter.
DeeJ says: “The cadence of new content in Destiny is about to speed up again. We hope you can keep up.”
The pace at which new Destiny content arrives is set to increase again. They hope you can keep up. A promise that every passionate Guardian loves to hear.
DeeJ already commented on this sentence via Twitter: After the holidays, there will be a more detailed discussion about what is coming next. Some Guardians are sure that this only refers to the SRL event scheduled for December. Perhaps even Destiny 2?
At the beginning of the month, Activision’s Eric Hirshberg had already stated similarly: He said that Bungie has found a clever approach that would allow a steady stream of fresh content to be delivered. This statement referred to Destiny 2.
Large gaps between content deliveries are therefore set to be a thing of the past. However, we still do not know the details.
