In the MMO shooter Destiny, additional information about the expansion “The Taken King” has emerged. It is now known how Bungie plans to alleviate the overcrowded vault and further details on how the developers intend to improve the overall player experience.
It is becoming clear that the expansion “The Taken King” is much more than just a “DLC”; rather, a comprehensive overhaul of numerous systems is on the way. Currently, journalists from the US magazine “Game Informer” have had access to the game. They are raving, however: Bungie is currently “under-promoting” the expansion.
A wave of information has become known from a large article by Game Informer, summarized by the fan site PlanetDestiny. We summarize now. We have already reported on the “major announcements” along with the new level cap and numerous wfurther details about the new strikes. How many new exotic items will come with The Taken King was smuggled as info into the last Xur article.
This article will discuss the intricacies of the expansion, which will primarily be found in the daily lives of the Guardians. These are known as quality-of-life improvements, enhancing comfort.
This is far from everything that is coming with The Taken King; it is only part of it.
Ghost Shells and Subclass Quests Come with The Taken King
- It is indeed said that new Ghost shells will find their way into the game. They will be modifiable just like class items, armor, and weapons, influencing the power of the Guardian
- As part of the “questification” of Destiny, existing content has been revamped. Thus, the two “old” subclasses will also receive a backstory, told in the form of a quest series
- The three new specs come with their own quests – Guardians will have to earn access to this knowledge
New Weapon Type and Utilization for Used Weapons in Destiny
- Eris Morn is supposed to send players on a quest series, at the end of which awaits a forgotten weapon type
- Emotes can now be equipped
- The interface has been revamped so that one can see at a glance what type of damage the weapons deal
- The interface now informs more clearly how strength, intellect, and discipline affect Destiny
- Items that are no longer needed can be used to enhance an item of the same type
This is How Bungie Wants to Alleviate the Vault in Destiny
- Emblems and shaders will no longer be stored in the vault, but in consoles in the Tower. In one of the consoles there will be all emblems, in another all shaders. Work is ongoing on further improvements to alleviate the vault.
- No longer does the class item determine which faction one collects reputation for, instead Guardians commit to one of the factions in Destiny and collect reputation for that faction until they switch to another
Grace in the Crucible and Better Rewards
- In the Crucible, alongside the two already known new modes Rift (Capture the Flag) and Mayhem (Supers and abilities have reduced cooldown), the new mode “Zone Control” will be added, where kills will not score points; only controlling certain areas will yield results
- With a new grace regulation, Crucible matches will end early if one side is dominating
- Players are to receive 5 weekly bounties. Upon completing these 5, they will receive a large 6th bounty, which may offer exotic or legendary items as rewards; daily bounties should be manageable more quickly
Strikes and Missions
- Once the 8 new story missions in PvE are completed, which are said to take relatively long, Guardians will begin a new series that is significantly harder and leads to locations like the Glass Vault
- For the strikes, they aim to increase replayability by making them more varied and occasionally varying patterns, even the story is to reveal new details upon replaying
In recent days, further news have already surfaced, you can find them on our Destiny theme page or in the coming days on our website as we attempt to untangle this information jumble.
However, this will not fully quench the thirst for information among players: Bungie already expects that many questions will remain and intends to answer them in streams. Even if players would like to know everything that awaits them on September 15, it seems a wish that will not be fulfilled. Questions will remain open, but hopefully, they will gradually decrease.
