In the MMO shooter Destiny, update 2.3.1 has been announced. This will be available for download in the coming weeks.
In the weekly letter to the community, Bungie reflects on the last livestream for “The Dawning of the Iron Lords”. It provided insights into how the Cosmodrome will change and also announced the Gjallarwing Sparrow – a pretty vehicle based on the exotic rocket launcher Gjallarhorn. You will receive this Sparrow and the Iron Gjallarhorn in black and silver by preordering the autumn expansion. It is explicitly stated that the preorder bonuses apply for PS4 and Xbox One. But when can Xbox Guardians preorder “Rise of Iron”? There is no concrete date yet, just a promise of “soon”. However, according to DeeJ, all his Xbox friends will have enough time for that.
Update 2.3.1 and a bright future ahead
The Bungie Day was not only a special day for the community, which received the “Year 2” triumph moments, but also for the Bungie studio itself. On this day, they came together as a team and pondered the future of Destiny and Bungie. Various executives took the stage and presented their creative ideas. However, we Guardians won’t see any of that just yet.
The community manager DeeJ reveals that he sat through every presentation thinking: “I can’t wait to show this to the community.” The window into the future is becoming clearer with time. But at the moment, he can only say that the future is bright and full of hope.
Update 2.3.1 is coming soon. To prepare for it, yesterday’s maintenance for Destiny took place. This update will be available for download in the coming weeks. No further information is available yet, other than the usual reminders: You need to free up enough storage space and you can refer to Bungie’s help page if you encounter issues downloading. The patch notes will come once the update is available.
Yesterday, some tweaks were made to the companion app. Now you should be able to inspect your stats, progress, inventory, and activities without any issues.
