In Destiny the update 2.3.1 goes live today, on July 26th. Are the servers going down?

This comes as a surprise: Just in the last “This Week at Bungie” it was announced that update 2.3.1 should be available for download sometime in the coming weeks. As it turns out, this vague time frame meant a half week later.
Because already today, on July 26th, Destiny receives this update. Starting at 7 PM, you can download and install it.
No maintenance work is required for this. The servers will remain online. So you do not need to abruptly end your Destiny session at 7 PM.
You should have installed the update by 11 PM at the latest. Because then you will receive a WEASEL error code and will be roughly kicked out of the game. Once you have installed update 2.3.1, you can log back in and continue playing.
What changes with patch 2.3.1?
Bungie has not yet provided the patch notes. They should be released when the update 2.3.1 is live.
As no major maintenance work is required, it will likely be a small patch regarding server and stability issues.
As soon as the patch notes are available, we will report on them.
