Since September 19, updates 2.4.0.1 and 2.4.0.2 are available for download in Destiny. These are provided bundled with version 1.28. What’s included?
Now it is finally time. The long wait will come to an end in a few hours. At 11 AM our time, the “The Rise of Iron” expansion goes live. Face SIVA! Become the Iron Lord! And as DeeJ reminded again via Twitter: Don’t treat the wolves as pets!
The final preparations for “Rise of Iron” were made last night. Shortly after 7 PM, updates 2.4.0.1 and 2.4.0.2 appeared. These are provided bundled with version 1.28 – so you do not need to download two updates. Once this patch is installed, you can start playing again.
According to Bungie’s Twitter page, maintenance work was still ongoing last night but has now been completed.

Here we list the update notes provided by Bungie. What changes does patch 1.28 bring?
2.4.0.1 is considered the update before Rise of Iron:
General:
- Gear is now properly displayed in the kiosks.
- Audio issues have been fixed. During long sessions, the sound could fail.
- There are now “Localization updates” for the “Rise of Iron” content in the game.
Quests:
- Quest tracking was not functioning properly in the Cosmodrome and on Mars.
- Additionally, there were issues with quest tracking for the Tower and the NPCs in the Tower.
Crucible:
- The volume of Lord Shaxx was adjusted for some remarks.
In addition, 2.4.0.2 brings:
General:
- The issue with the “Film Grain” has been resolved. This grain effect was inadvertently included.
- Additionally, the reviving mechanics were adjusted. The time and distance for this had values like before 2.2.0.
You must download and install patch 1.28 to play Destiny and thus “Rise of Iron”.
Yesterday, the database was updated: With RoI, the lost exotic armor pieces finally come.
