In the MMO shooter Destiny the PvP event Trials of Osiris is active this weekend. It focuses on the new map “Thieves’ Den.” How does it work?
Every week the event “Trials of Osiris” takes place on a different map. This week it’s Thieves’ Den: This is one of the new maps that comes with “House of Wolves”. Therefore, not many players know it as well as some of the classic Control maps.
In the Trials of Osiris, it’s either about winning as many matches as possible before losing three times, or (for many the ultimate goal) winning nine times without losing a single match, because then you go to Mercury where special rewards await.
To make this work, not only is a team needed that understands each other blindly and works as a unit (we can’t help you with that), but also knowledge of the new map and certain strategies (we can’t help you with that either, but we know someone who can).
How does the map Thieves’ Den work?
The German-speaking YouTuber Nexxoss is known for his guides and tutorial videos on Destiny. We have already let him speak in the past few weeks about the special features of the individual maps.
Here he explains “Thieves’ Den”:
So it’s a clear close-combat map. Treacherous in such cases: grenades and shotguns. Nexxoss recommends stealth tactics to surprise opponents from a dead angle or even from behind. Teamwork is difficult on such maps. If you stand too close together, grenades can have devastating effects. Therefore, such a fight can sometimes break down into individual duels. So if you act together, you should still make sure to maintain a safe distance.
As always, reviving is extremely important.
