In the MMO shooter Destiny , the Trials of Osiris still aren’t going quite as planned. A new “trick” is causing trouble or allowing teams to breeze through to Mercury without a fight.
Last week we reported on cheats in the Trials of Osiris. Players were able to deliberately “boot” others from the game. Or the match didn’t even start, and the opponents were already handed a loss. Or there were issues with severe lag.
Here, Bungie threatened and banned players. They said: Don’t do this, you’ll get in trouble. It had an effect. Over the weekend, things seemed more relaxed on that front.
Boo! – And the opponents are gone
But a new “trick” has appeared that takes away much of the appeal of relentless combat. Apparently, some teams are looking at who they have to face beforehand and then deciding whether to fight or to escape the game before the match, depending on how the opposing team looks. As a result, the opponents win, but the deserters supposedly do not receive a “loss.”
This means that some teams that appear particularly intimidating stand with a 9-0 record and reach Mercury without having done much for it. Particularly discouraging to such “Maybe not after all!” teams are rumored to be the elite emblems from the box on Mercury and a team full of level 34 players.
On reddit, a player reports that he made it to Mercury with a 4-1 score. He and his team really won 4 matches, while they were handed 3 matches due to the opponents quitting early before the match started. One victory was secured through a buff, a second victory counted double thanks to another buff, and the loss was negated by the 3rd buff.
Trials of Osiris are a highlight for many from House of Wolves and Destiny
One can only hope that Bungie brings the mode “Trials of Osiris” under control as quickly as possible and ensures that everything works properly and fair. Based on the first reactions from many Guardians, the Trials of Osiris are the highlight of the DLC for Crucible fans so far. And that’s certainly because it is indeed challenging and tough, and not because one is handed victories simply for appearing particularly fierce.
