Today is Bungie Day 2017! The developers have something planned for all Guardians in Destiny.
Yes, the developer studio Bungie has its own holiday: the “Bungie Day”. This has been celebrated for over 10 years.
What is Bungie Day?
Bungie Day was not initiated by Bungie itself. Instead, it was created 11 years ago by the community. However, Bungie has joyfully adopted it to celebrate the hardworking developers and the entire community on this day, as DeeJ mentioned a year ago.
Bungie Day is celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh month: that is, on July 7 (that’s today). The reason for this: The number 7 is known as Bungie’s favorite number, especially in the Halo series, where it frequently appears. Not without reason is the entire Bungie community referred to as the “7th Column”. In Destiny, you encounter the 7, for example, with trophies/achievements: A success is unlocked when you reach 777 Grimoire points.
What can we look forward to today?
In the “This Week at Bungie,” DeeJ teases that they want to celebrate today’s Bungie Day with the community. They have a few things in store for you to celebrate and express yourselves. More details will follow today.

How was Bungie Day celebrated last year?
Last year, Bungie Day was celebrated big: On this day, the “Year 2” triumph moments went live, through which there were exclusive rewards to be won.

But that’s not all: Last year, there were also new offers in the Bungie Store, such as a special emblem (with the number 7 on it) or a T-shirt that cost a whopping $777,772.77. Update 20:20: It is now clear what Bungie Day is. There are mainly new wallpapers and “new” offers in the store like this “Something with a G” T-shirt. There seems to be a 17% discount on purchases in the Bungie Store.
They are celebrating the community at Bungie. 20 beta codes will also be released. However, they will be gone very quickly. Throughout the day, there should be more codes available through social media. These beta codes grant early access to the Destiny 2 beta.
The most important thing that Bungie Day brings is surely these Destiny 2 wallpapers. Bungie shows humor and even honors the legendary Sweeper Bot.
