Recently, a graphic has been spreading on the internet for the MMO shooter Destiny, which supposedly shows the exclusive content for PS4.
Update 16.8.: In short: An exclusive quest, a PvP map, and a new ship are coming as PlayStation-exclusive content.
- Quest: The questline is called “Show of Strength”. If you successfully complete it, you will receive the new ship named “Timeless Tereshkova”.
- PvP Map: The new map is called Icarus and is set on Mercury. The map is medium-sized and designed for all 6v6 modes. There will be both long sightlines and areas for close combat. In the center of the map, there is a main chamber with doors that close.

Original Announcement:
With the expansions in Destiny, Guardians on PlayStation receive time-exclusive content that they can play before Xbox Guardians. This mainly includes weapons, armor pieces, or even entire strikes. For example, the last update in April introduced the nice sniper rifle Zen Meteor, which Xbox users still have to wait for.
The fall expansion “The Rise of Iron” will bring PlayStation-exclusive content. This has already been confirmed. Since “Rise of Iron” will only run on Current-Gen, one can speak directly of PS4-exclusive content. What this content entails has not yet been officially disclosed. However, a screenshot has now surfaced, which is supposed to show the content.
PvP Map and Stylish Ship Only on PS4 This Fall?
The source of the following graphic is the Twitter account of XxHaVoC83xX. The user allegedly received an email from Bungie listing these contents:
According to this screenshot, PS4 Guardians receive exclusively:
- A PvP multiplayer map
- A questline with rewards
Additionally, a sleek ship is visible, which may represent the reward of this questline.
The time exclusivity lasts at least until fall 2017, as can be inferred from the fine print.
At this point, a clear note: This information is not official and should therefore not be taken at face value. Bungie has not yet commented on this.
Update: Screenshots from our community have reached us from the PlayStation Store. Apparently, these contents are indeed the PS4-exclusive content:
Platform-exclusive content is always a contentious issue in the community. While those affected rejoice over the benefits, others feel disadvantaged – after all, they pay the same amount. However, Destiny is not an isolated case. Marketing deals with hardware manufacturers are common in the gaming scene. For example, The Division favors Xbox and PC agents with time-exclusive expansions.
