In Destiny, we take a closer look at “The Proud Tower Tip.” What can the shotgun do in PvE and PvP?
In the October Iron Banner, two weapons were at the center: “The Unyielding Tree,” an auto rifle, and “The Proud Tower Tip,” a shotgun. In this article, we take a closer look at the shotgun.
How to Obtain “The Proud Tower Tip”
You can obtain the Iron Banner shotgun in four ways. The prerequisite is that the Iron Banner, the monthly PvP event, is active.
Efrideet: The new contact for the Iron Banner has been Efrideet since RoI. She can offer “The Proud Tower Tip” again in the coming months with fixed perks, as was the case in the October Iron Banner.
Random drop after Iron Banner matches: When the shotgun is offered again by Efrideet, it can also be obtained with random perks at the end of “Iron Banner” matches.
Reward for completing bounty quests: By completing Iron Banner bounty quests, you receive direct rewards. The weapon rewards can include all Iron Banner weapons – not just the two weapons offered by Efrideet.
Reward for the Iron Banner quest: In “The Pursuit of Light,” you must reach specific Iron Banner ranks. There are random rewards for this. Here too, you have a chance to obtain “The Proud Tower Tip.”
What Makes “The Proud Tower Tip” Stand Out in Destiny?
The shotgun was forged in honor of Silimar. It is a shotgun that comes with a high rate of fire but low impact. Additionally, it has above-average stability, a very fast reload speed, a high aim assist, a good magazine size, and can be drawn quickly. Here are the specific stats:
The major drawback of this weapon lies in its range. Especially in PvP, pump-action shotguns that have high impact and range are preferred, such as “The Last Attempt 001” from Dead Orbit.
What Can the Shotgun Do in PvE and PvP?
For PvP: In short, “The Proud Tower Tip” is currently not recommended in the Crucible. Here, powerful shotguns dominate. In direct duel with Guardians wielding such a shotgun, you will fall short with “The Proud Tower Tip.”
In PvE, however, it becomes interesting, as you do not need to deal as much damage as possible with one shot, but instead should deal damage over time. For this, the high rate of fire is practical. To compensate for the disadvantage of low range, you can rely on perks like Hammerforged, Enhanced Barrel, Flared Magwell, or Smallbore. Also, Snapshots are available in the perks pool. However, the options for increasing range and impact are very limited.
Therefore, you can also rely on the advantages of this weapon instead of trying to compensate for the disadvantages, and look for perks that match a run-and-gun playstyle, such as Lightweight, One-point Sling, Full Auto, Battle Runner, Crowd Control, or Life Support.

According to Nexxoss Gaming, this is a weapon that is not really worth it. In PvP, it is useless and in PvE, it is rather regarded as average. “The Proud Tower Tip” is not a new overweapon.
