Destiny: The Nightfall Strike is down – What does Bungie say? [Update]

In the MMO shooter Destiny the Nightfall strike is broken. The door simply won’t open.

Update: Since 8:30 PM, reports have been increasing that the Nightfall is working. The streamer Professor Broman is said to have completed it, and others report: It’s working again. At least it seems to be functioning for some now.

This morning we reported, as usual, on the reset in Destiny: What is the Nightfall? What’s going on in the raid?

Everything was okay up to that point, but there was one problem: In the Nightfall, the Shattered Cell, some mobs were missing at the beginning and later, a door simply wouldn’t open. You could log out and use tricks as you wanted: It just wouldn’t progress. The strike appears to be “broken” this week and cannot be completed.

We are aware of reported issues with the weekly Nightfall and are investigating. Please stand by.

At Bungie in Seattle, it’s currently 4 AM, but they are already awake and have reached out via Twitter. They are aware of the problem and are working on a solution. Players are advised to please be patient.
