What happened with Destiny? Are the Exotics lost in the upheaval of Destiny 2’s delay?

There is much to suggest that the year 2016 did not go as Bungie planned. Otherwise, it would be hard to explain that they released a complicated event like Sparrow Racing for a short time in a year almost without new shooter content (except for a little shooting in April) and then buried it again.

Allegedly, the late delay of “Destiny 2” caused a complete upheaval of their plans. Destiny 2 was originally planned for Fall 2016.

When it was then postponed to 2017, it was reported that they had to “improvise” from then on. From then on, anonymous sources indicate, the live team had to provide content without being appropriately equipped for it. But Bungie is tight-lipped about these issues: they never talk about such “negative internal matters”, so this comes from second-hand sources.
This version would explain a lot.

It is quite plausible that Bungie’s original plans for Year 2 were completely different and included more shooter content and new exotic items that for some reason were not delivered – perhaps reserved for later expansions or a Destiny 2.

However, since Bungie never concretized these original plans, we are left with rumors and the feeling that many things did not go as planned. Perhaps the 7 missing armors are a casualty of this restructuring.
