In Destiny , preparations are underway for major reveals at Gamescom. Additionally, the August Iron Banner has a date.
The community manager DeeJ is quite excited. With plenty of Bungie shirts and a few clean underwear in his luggage, he is traveling with some Bungie developers to us: to Germany, for Gamescom in Cologne. “The Awakening of the Iron Lords” can be tried out at the gaming fair in Hall 7 – but they aren’t revealing exactly what. However, it’s supposed to be worth waiting in line for.
Livestream on August 16
At Gamescom, there will be a major announcement concerning the Crucible. This was already mentioned in the last livestream for the Cosmodrome Winter Tour . Now the outlines are becoming clearer:
On August 16 at 7 PM, it will begin. The stream will start on Bungie’s official Twitch channel. We at Mein-MMO.de will naturally watch the fun and summarize the most important information in a timely manner.
The eve of Gamescom is upon us – but for what exactly? Private Matches and Custom Games are highly speculated. Bungie has stated the following:
The “World Lead Designer” Steve Cotton and the “Crucible Lead Designer” Lars Bakken will discuss new game modes, new maps, and new features in the Crucible. Additional information will be provided while two fireteams compete against each other.
There will also be a ViDoc where the developers talk about Felwinter Peak and the Infested Lands. The reveals in the stream are for every Guardian, not just for the PvP lovers.
Iron Banner in August starts next week
And another event starts next week: The last Iron Banner before “Rise of Iron”. Now you have the last chance to prove yourself worthy of becoming an Iron Lord.
- The kickoff is on Tuesday, August 16. Time is still unknown, a bit later than usual.
- The Iron Banner ends on August 23 at 11 AM.
- It will be played in the Conflict mode.
In addition to class-specific and PlayStation-exclusive armor pieces, this month there will be the shotgun and the hand cannon.
The August Iron Banner will start one or two hours later than usual (7 PM). Because beforehand, maintenance will be held starting at 6 PM. Once this is finished, the monthly PvP event will begin.
Those who say that the server downtime has been deliberately scheduled so that people can watch the stream are met with DeeJ’s response: “We didn’t do it on purpose.” Sometimes everything just happens at the same time.
Next week is going to be busy in Destiny. We will stay on top of things.
