In Destiny, you can create builds by skillfully combining your focuses, weapons, and armor. Nexxoss Gaming presents his build “The Charged Warlock”.

The YouTuber Nexxos Gaming presents a Warlock build in a video, which should be particularly effective in the Crucible. For this, he introduces his focus, the weapons and armor that he combines in such a way that synergy effects arise.

“The Charged Warlock” is a combination of the Stormcaller focus, the Tlaloc, and various perks. According to Nexxoss, this build is particularly useful in PvP in the Control mode. The build is showcased in the following video:

For the “Charged Warlock,” you need to choose the Warlock focus Stormcaller. The focus nodes are designed to charge the super quickly and use it effectively:

• Take the Storm Grenade, which “unleashes a targeted storm.” It is important for this build that you hit your enemies with the grenade – eliminating opponents is secondary.
• Also choose Superconductor, which doubles the chain ability of your Storm trance. This allows you to kill enemies more efficiently when they are close together, as is often the case in Control mode. You can also achieve double kills more easily, which will be significant for this build.

  

• For the melee attack, rely on Gathering Storm: Hits with the Thunderstrike charge the super, ability, and melee energy. Since this build specializes in super attacks, this focus perk will help you.
• Importantly, the focus node Transcendence: With full grenade and melee energy, Storm trance fully restores your health and drains more slowly. This allows you to extend the duration of your super and thus deal devastating damage for longer.
• You should also select the Electrostatic Surge for the “Charged Warlock”: Storm trance charges faster when allies are nearby. When Storm trance is active, nearby enemies take damage. These advantages come into play especially in Control mode.

The reason you should charge the super as quickly as possible is also tied to the choice of weapons for this build:

Tlaloc: The exotic scout rifle Tlaloc and the Stormcaller focus complement each other. These weapon perks favor the “Charged Warlock”:

• Grenadier: Kills with this weapon reduce the cooldown of your grenade. This perk is combined with the armor perk From the Ashes, more on that shortly.
• Overflow: This is the significant perk of this weapon and this build: The weapon has improved handling, rate of fire, and stability when the holder’s super is charged. The build ensures that the super is charged quickly to take advantage of the Tlaloc. When this perk is active, according to Nexxoss, the Tlaloc becomes a “super weapon”

As a secondary weapon, Nexxoss recommends a shotgun to have a weapon for close combat. The Tlaloc is more suitable for enemies at a distance. He personally uses the Conspiracy Theory-D. In Control mode, the YouTuber likes to use a machine gun as a heavy weapon, here he takes the Tormented Terminus by Qullim.

Select these armor perks for the Warlock PvP build

In general, you should use items that increase Intellect (for the super) and Discipline (for grenades).

Pay attention to these perks on the armor pieces:

• From the Ashes: Hitting grenades gives you bonus super energy. This helps you recharge the super quickly after use. Combined with the perk Grenadier from the Tlaloc and the Storm Grenade, which allows for easy hits, fruitful synergy effects arise. “From the Ashes” can be found, for example, on the helmet “Iron Camelot Hood”.
• Lightning Rod: The perk unlocks the Stormcaller focus node Landfall for free: When you activate Storm trance, you strike a lightning bolt into the ground, generating a devastating shockwave beneath you. This makes your super even more powerful. You can find this perk on the exotic gauntlets “The Impossible Machines”.

  

• Earthly Medicine: Grants you a boost for recovery per grenade kill. This is stackable for 20 seconds. Since the grenade is important in this build – it charges quickly and grants super energy – it is useful to gain additional recovery through grenades. You can find this perk, for example, on the chest piece “Tormented Chasm of Yuul”.
• Arc Double Kill: After an Arc double kill, agility increases for 5 seconds. With the selected focus node Superconductor, you achieve double kills more frequently with your Storm trance, which increases agility. Thus, you can rush through the Crucible faster and hunt Guardians with your active super. You can find this perk, for example, on the leg armor “Winged Sun Boots”.

The focus, the Tlaloc, and the advantages of the armor items harmonize with each other, allowing you to score in the Crucible, especially in Control mode.

The build is designed to charge the grenades and super as quickly as possible to use the strengths of the Tlaloc. When the right moment arises and you encounter multiple Guardians in close quarters, you can effectively utilize the super attack.

According to Nexxoss, however, one problem with this build is that it takes a while to fully charge the super in order to utilize its advantages. “The Charged Warlock” has to charge up first.
