At the end of September 2016, the greatest mystery of “Rise of Iron” was solved: Outbreak Prime was found.
This weapon has an interesting backstory: At the end of 2015, the community designed a (slightly overpowered) weapon called “Price of Exile”. This weapon had the special perk that after precision kills, bolts would rise from the corpse of the killed enemy and fly towards the next opponent.
Outbreak Prime now has perks similar to this “Weapon of the People” – however, instead of bolts, SIVA nanites stream from the weapon. This weapon was something everyone wanted in the fall of 2016 – however, one had to undertake a long and arduous quest to obtain it.
It starts with a monitor riddle in the “Wrath of the Machine” raid, which required the smartest minds of the community to solve. You can read how this monitor riddle works in the linked article.
Then one receives the quest line “Corruption Channeling”, where one even has to do some math. Without the combined efforts of the community, it likely would never have been possible for “normal Guardians” to solve this riddle.
