This is the first exotic that is clearly designed for the Stormcaller for the new Warlock focus with Taken King.
Typically, such “this unlocks the node” exotics are good because you can take another talent in the skill tree that you would otherwise have to pass on.
If a Stormcaller Warlock wears this exotic, then the Stormtrance would receive two bonus effects at once. In addition to the shockwave, the Warlock could teleport – or Stormtrance could flash even more than before.
Sounds like the Destiny version of Emperor Palpatine just became a little more powerful.
