If there was a weapon that could compete with Gjallarhorn’s cult, it was the Icebreaker. It is a unique sniper with an extravagant look that could regenerate ammunition itself – thus offering outstanding advantages in both PvE and PvP.
Just two months ago, the Icebreaker made a comeback in the game with a current version: With “The Dawning”, it celebrated its return and became once again one of the most coveted weapons in Destiny.
However, it cannot match the dominance it had in Year 1. Particularly in the Nightfall strike and raids, it was top-tier and considered the best weapon for PvE. The perk Icebreaker ignited enemies and caused damage to other enemies nearby, and the perk No Backpack ensured that the Icebreaker could not be reloaded but regenerated its own ammo.
Until the Black Spindle took the stage, no one wanted to forfeit these advantages. But even in the following months, the Icebreaker remained popular despite the competition.
