The Vex Mythoclast inevitably reminds many Guardians of the best raid in the history of Destiny: the Glass Chamber. Because this unique weapon dropped randomly from the final boss Atheon in hard mode.

Vex Mythoclast was an exotic fusion rifle that functioned as a primary weapon. Not only were its design and sound extraordinary, but so was the power that lay within it. It could shoot immediately upon pulling the trigger, eliminating any charge time.

This weapon, likely the best weapon in the early days of PvP, combined the advantages of both fusion and scout rifles. Just a few shots were enough to take down enemy after enemy. People spoke of total dominance in the crucible. We’re in September 2014: Vex Mythoclast = God-Mode.

Bungie had simply made the raid weapon too strong, which led to severe nerfs, then buffs, and also bugs. By early 2015, it was no longer considered the queen of the crucible, yet it still held its own in the middle of the pack.
