In Destiny, a Guardian has managed to solo the Templar challenge in the Vault of Glass. You don’t see that every day!
The YouTuber Esoterickk is known in the English-speaking Guardian community, but the “Mein MMO” readers might also recognize this name. Now and then, he publishes impressive runs in the raids that leave the community in awe. Just last week, he managed to complete the Crota raid at 390 Light Level completely solo.
This week, Esoterickk showcases a similarly impressive feat in the Vault of Glass, which has been the featured raid in Destiny since April 4th. He conquered the Templar raid challenge, which leaves some fireteams struggling, all by himself. How he achieved this can be seen here:
Templar Challenge solo – No Teleport!
The Templar challenge consists of preventing the Templar from teleporting. Normally, you destroy its shield, deal damage to it, and after a short while, the Templar teleports away and its shield regenerates. Then the fun starts all over again. In the challenge, you have to stand in the “teleport circles” in time to prevent the teleport. At the same time, the Templar and the adds are putting considerable pressure on you.
What some fireteams fail to do, Esoterickk accomplishes solo. It takes over 26 minutes, but in the end, the challenge is completed successfully. The strategy is quickly explained: He runs back and forth between the teleport zones, blocks damage in them, and only attacks the Templar when his super is full. He doesn’t bother with the adds. Just running, blocking, and unleashing supers. Sounds easier than it actually is.
He has not yet found a way to solo the Atheon challenge. That might be impossible, as six Guardians need to take down six Oracles. But in Destiny, many things have been accomplished that were considered “impossible”.
