Destiny has released some impressive numbers for the end of the year. The MMO shooter on Playstation 3 and 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One shows its cards here.
The Weekly Update for Destiny, the last of this year, has no special announcements to make, there are no fixes for Crota’s End, for any weapons, no buffs for the Exotics from the Glass Chamber and no outrageous surprises in the structure of the game. We have truly had enough of that in the past few weeks.
Guardians learned too late that they could upgrade the old exotic weapons at Xur to new, bare naked versions. However, the Guardians found out a few days later, after another announcement that also concerned exotic items. And that’s why some resources and some shards were wasted.
Instead of any surprises, numbers are mentioned and they are significant:
- 12,869,066 players have played Destiny so far. If all these players were put into a city, it would be as big as New York and Los Angeles combined.
- 22,932,276 Guardians have been created.
- They have spent 872,404,449 hours in-game. This means each player has spent an average of nearly 68 hours.
- Currently, over 500 developers are working on Destiny.
- Atheon, the final boss in the old raid “The Glass Chamber,” has been defeated 2.4 million times.
- Crota, the final boss in the new raid “Crota’s End,” has only been defeated 95 times.
At Destiny, they are confident that the numbers will have increased by the time you read this. Now they will take a break for Christmas, visit family, and disperse in all directions. They have one request: Guardians should be kind to the newcomers who will surely be joining Destiny over Christmas.
The next update for Destiny will be released in January and hopefully bring some changes that players are waiting for. They are not revealing more details yet. Information about the next update will be available after the holidays.
