In the MMO shooter Destiny , two friends have now played 200 Strikes from the new playlist Roc and present their loot.
The drop probabilities for loot are a mystery in the MMO shooter Destiny. Other games have long mapped this much more accurately.
In WoW, you get the drop probability for each item with two decimal places. In Destiny, this is (unfortunately or fortunately) not the case. Therefore, one has to rely on reports that do not claim to be accurate. However, the sample size is usually not sufficient.
Therefore, many rely on their gut feeling: Nothing drops.
Two friends, two roommates, have now played a Strike from the “newest”, hardest playlist Roc 200 times and recorded their loot. Since they were playing together, they received loot 400 times.
Only what was visible on the reward screen at the end of the strikes counts, not random loot from the strikes themselves. The Roc Strikes have replaced the earlier “Loot Caves” as the normal activity some time ago. Therefore, it is particularly interesting for Destiny players to see what loot is available.
Loot Probability in Destiny: The results from the 400 Roc Strikes
- Rare armor engrams: 438 (statistically speaking: 1.08 blue armor engrams per person per strike)
- Rare weapon engrams: 200 (0.5 blue weapon engrams per strike)
- Legendary armor engrams: 11 (one purple armor engram approximately every 36 strikes)
- Legendary weapon engrams: 9 (one purple weapon engram approximately every 44 strikes)
- Legendary ship: 12 (there was one purple ship approximately every 33 strikes)
- Exotic weapons: 8 (an exotic (gold) weapon was obtained every 50 strikes)
- Light particles: 28 (one was found in approximately every 14 strikes)
- Strange coins: 12 (this amounts to one coin approximately every 33 strikes)
Anyone who is as versed in statistics as we are wonders: Why don’t they just do every 50th strike and skip the other 49?
Anyway, this is not a scientific investigation with precise percentages, but it should give a rough overview of what statistically awaits each Guardian at the end of such a Roc Strike. The total loot is likely to be significantly higher with the “randomly obtained” drops.
And for those wondering how long 200 Roc Strikes approximately take? 28 hours. But don’t worry, the two didn’t do it all at once. That would be crazy. Instead, they did it in two 14-hour shifts.
