Today, on June 27th, the servers of Destiny are down. Maintenance work is underway. The login is not functioning. Info about server status.
They were already announced last week, and today, Tuesday, it’s happening: There are extensive maintenance works taking place in Destiny. Anyone who wanted to fulfill their duties as a Guardian this evening will have to postpone it to another day.
- Preparation for the maintenance begins at 4 PM. You will not be able to log in anymore.
- At 5 PM, all players will be removed from their activities. The servers will go offline. Make sure to finish your mission before then.
- The maintenance work will continue until the night at 1 AM (June 28th). However, past experiences show that Bungie’s maintenance often ends earlier than indicated.
Additionally: Bungie.net and the companion app will be available with limited functionality during the maintenance.
No changelog, but preparation for the Destiny 2 Beta
During this server downtime, nothing will change in Destiny 1. There will be no changes to game content or gameplay.
Instead, according to Bungie, this maintenance is intended to prepare for the “Destiny 2” beta, which starts in mid-July.
Information about the Destiny 2 Beta
These are the dates for the beta:
- PS4 with early access (Closed Beta): July 18
- Xbox One with early access (Closed Beta): July 19
- The Open Beta for everyone starts on PS4 and Xbox One on July 21.
- The Open Beta ends on July 23.
- PC: The beta starts at the end of August.
In the beta, you can play the story mission “Homecoming”, the strike “Inverted Spire”, as well as PvP. It is expected that this PvP content will include the “Countdown” mode and the new map “Midtown”. A total of six Guardian subclasses will be available, including the three new focuses Dawnblade, Sentinel, and Arcstrider.
