What is special about rocket launchers?
Rocket science isn’t hard! The focus for rocket launchers is on different statistics than for other weapon classes. Things like range don’t exist for rocket launchers. The rocket flies as far as it needs to until it hits a target. Let’s look at the other values:
- Explosion Radius: Indicates how massive the impact is upon detonation. You want this value to be as high as possible (100) (even if this leads to more suicides in the Crucible when someone suddenly appears in front of your nose, and yes, I speak from experience).
- Speed: The speed of the projectile. Guardians are quicker than enemies in PvE. You want the rocket to hit as quickly as possible where you fired it. The maximum achievable value is 90.
- Stability: For other weapon types, stability is crucial. For rocket launchers, you can safely ignore stability. The fire rate is so low for rocket launchers that even with poor stability, you can quickly re-aim at your target.
Which rocket launchers do I need?
Rocket launchers can fundamentally be divided into two categories:
- Medium explosion radius, high speed
- Large explosion radius, medium speed
