The release of the autumn expansion “Rise of Iron” for Destiny has been leaked. Last-gen Guardians will likely have to transition to the current console generation.
On the official Destiny website, a graphic was apparently posted too early: it shows a Titan with a flaming axe, surrounded by wolves on both sides. This Guardian – possibly Lord Saladin – is already known to us from a previously leaked poster for Rise of Iron.
According to the now released graphic, the release date for Rise of Iron is September 20, 2016. This is intended for the upcoming trailer, which is not live yet.
Is Rise of Iron only coming for PS4 and Xbox One?
Another piece of information might surprise some Destiny players: It is stated that Rise of Iron is being released for Playstation 4 and Xbox One. However, there is no mention of whether the expansion will also come to PS3 and Xbox 360.
Possibly, the autumn expansion for last-gen will only be delivered at a later date. Previously, it was assumed that only the sequel in 2017, “Destiny 2”, would cater to the current generation. If Guardians on PS3 and Xbox 360 now have to switch in autumn, it would come as a surprise to many.
Note: The graphic has since been removed from the website.
Update: There is now a new leak: with the contents of the “Rise of Iron” expansion for Destiny!
